CLASS and MECHANISM of Action
Generic Ampiclox is a penicillin antibiotic. It works by killing sensitive bacteria by interfering with formation of the bacteria's cell wall while it is growing. This weakens the cell wall and it ruptures resulting in the death of the bacteria.
Active Ingredients: ampicillin(trihydrate) and cloxacillin sodium
Inactive Ingredients: black iron oxide, gelatin, FD&C Blue #1, FD&C Red #3, FD&C Red #40, lactose monohydrate, silica gel, and titanium dioxide.

What is Generic Ampiclox PRESCRIBED For?
Generic Ampiclox is used for treating infections caused by certain types of bacteria. Is recommended for children.
How Should I Take Generic Ampiclox?
It's recommended to take Generic Ampiclox half to one hour prior to meals or at least two hours after meals with full glass of water. Do not crush, crew or cut the pill.

What are the CONTRAINDICATIONS for taking Generic Ampiclox?
Generic Ampiclox should not be taken by those who have allergy to penicillin or cephalosporins, babies born of hypersensitive mothers in the neonatal periods; is not recommended for patients with chronic, severe, or deep-seated infections such as sub acute bacterial endocarditis, meningitis or syphilis.
Generic Ampiclox should preferably not be given to patients with infectious mononucleosis, lymphatic leukemia and patients receiving allopurinol treatment.

What Happens if I MISS A DOSE?
If you miss a dose take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and wait until your next regularly scheduled dose. Do not use extra Generic Ampiclox to make up the missed dose.
What happens if I OVERDOSE?
Symptoms of Generic Ampiclox overdose are the following: hemolytic anemia and leucopenia, prolongation of bleeding time and detective platelet function, convulsions and other signs of toxicity.

What are the possible SIDE EFFECTS of Generic Ampiclox?
Generic Ampiclox may produce diarrhoea, nausea and heartburn, allergic reactions which may include exfoliative dermatitis, other skin rashes, interstitial nephritis and vasculitis.
What other drugs can INTERACT with Generic Ampiclox ?
The following may interact with Generic Amopiclox: Allopurinol, Atenolol, Tetracyclines, Aminoglycosides.
