Generic Atrovent is an anticholinergic. It works by relaxing and opening bronchial tubes.

Active Ingredients: ipratropium bromide

Generic Atrovent is used for treating and preventing bronchospasm associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and emphysema.

Inhale slowly through the mouth and at the same time firmly press once on the upended metal canister base as in continue to inhale deeply. Store Generic Atrovent at a room temperature, away from heat, humidity, and direct sunlight. Do not puncture, break, or burn the canister, even if it appears to be empty. Keep it out of reach of children.

Generic Atrovent is contraindecated to children younger than 12 years, have narrow-angle glaucoma, enlargement of the prostrate, or urinary blockage or retention, allergy to any of its ingredients; women who are pregnant or breast-feeding.

If you miss a dose of Generic Atrovent, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once.

Generic Atrovent is unlikely to cause the acute overdose. Howether, if the overdose is suspected, contact your doctor or emergensy room immediately.

Generic Atrovent may cause the following side effects: cough; dizziness; dry mouth; dry nose or nose irritation; flu-like symptoms; headache; nausea; nervousness; pain; runny nose; sinus infection; sore throat; upper respiratory tract infection; allergic reactions, blurred vision; eye pain; nosebleeds; trouble urinating; visual halos or colored rings.

Generic Atrovent may interct with the following: Benztropine, Diphenhydramine and other anticholinergic medicines.

Avoid contact with eyes. Flush with water immediately if eye contact with Generic Atrovent occurs.
Generic Atrovent should be taken only by the patient for whom it is prescribed. Do not share it with other people.
