Generic Benzac is a keratolytic agent with antibacterial actions. Its effectiveness appears to be due to its antibacterial, peeling (keratolytic), and drying actions.
Active Ingredients: benzoyl peroxide
Inactive Ingredients: purified water, carbomer 940, 14% alcohol, sodium hydroxide, docusate sodium and fragrances.

Generic Benzac is used for treating acne.
How Should I Take Generic Benzac?
Use Generic Benzac on the skin only. Avoid getting Generic Benzac in your eyes, on the inside of your nose or mouth, on highly inflamed or damaged skin, or on your lips. If you get Generic Benzac in your eyes, immediately wash them out with cool tap water. Wash your hands before and after using Generic Benzac. Clean and dry the affected area. Gently rub Generic Benzac in until it is evenly distributed.
Store Generic Benzac at a room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep it from freezing and out of reach of children.

What are the CONTRAINDICATIONS for taking Generic Benzac?
Generic Benzac is contraindicated to pregnant or breast-feeding women, children younger then 12 year old, persons who are allergic to it.
What Happens if I MISS A DOSE?
If you miss a dose of Generic Benzac, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not apply double doses.
What happens if I OVERDOSE?
Symptoms of Generic Benzac overdose may include excessive scaling; flushing; redness; swelling. If the overdose is suspected, contact your doctor or emergency room immediatly.
What are the possible SIDE EFFECTS of Generic Benzac?
Generic Benzac may cause the following side effects: dryness; feeling of warmth; irritation; itching; peeling; redness; stinging; swelling of the skin; excessive burning, or tenderness of your skin.
What other drugs can INTERACT with Generic Benzac?
If Generic Benzac is used along with sunscreens containing PABA (para-aminobenzoic acid), it may cause temporary skin discoloration.
Additional Information
Generic Benzac is to be used only by the patient for whom it is prescribed. Do not share it with other people and use it only for the indication prescribed.
