What is Generic Capoten PRESCRIBED For?
Generic Capoten is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), congestive heart failure, kidney problems caused by diabetes, and to improve survival after a heart attack.
How Should I Take Generic Capoten?
Take each dose of Generic Capoten with a full glass of water. Generic Capoten doses are usually taken one hour before meals.
Store Generic Capoten at a room temperature in a dark dry place. Keep it out of the reach of children.

What are the CONTRAINDICATIONS for taking Generic Capoten?
Generic Capoten should not be taken by patients with allergy to any of its components, kidney disease, liver disease, heart disease or congestive heart failure; diabetes, a connective tissue disease such as Marfan syndrome, Sjogren's syndrome, lupus, scleroderma, or rheumatoid arthritis.
What Happens if I MISS A DOSE?
Take the missed dose of Generic Capoten as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the medicine at the next regularly scheduled time. Do not take double doses.
What happens if I OVERDOSE?
Symptoms of Generic Capoten overdose may include feeling extremely dizzy or light-headed, or fainting. If the overdose is suspected, contact your doctor or emergency room immdeatly.
What are the possible SIDE EFFECTS of Generic Capoten?
Generic Capoten may cause the following side effects: feeling light-headed, fainting; urinating more or less than usual, or not at all; fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms; pale skin, easy bruising or bleeding; fast, pounding, or uneven heartbeats; chest pain; or swelling, rapid weight gain; cough; loss of taste sensation, loss of appetite; dizziness, drowsiness, headache; sleep problems (insomnia); dry mouth, sores in the mouth or on the lips; nausea, diarrhea, constipation; or mild skin itching or rash.
What other drugs can INTERACT with Generic Capoten?
Generic Capoten may interact with the following: lithium; a potassium supplement such as K-Dur, Klor-Con; salt substitutes that contain potassium; drugs that can dilate blood vessels, such as alprostadil, nitroglycerin, nitroprusside, nesiritide, minoxidil, or isosorbide dinitrate; aspirin or other NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) or a diuretic (water pill).
