What is Generic Carbimazole PRESCRIBED For?
Generic Carbimazole is used to treat hyperthyroidism, to decrease the amount of thyroid hormones produced by the thyroid gland; radio-iodine therapy.
How Should I Take Generic Carbimazole?
Take each dose of Generic Carbimazole with or without food. Taking the medication with food may reduce stomach upset if it occurs.

What are the CONTRAINDICATIONS for taking Generic Carbimazole?
Generic Carbimazole should not be taken by patients with allergic reactions to any of its components; decreased blood cell production by the bone marrow; fever (pyrexia); liver disease; mouth ulcers; sore throats; pregnant or breast-feeding women.
What Happens if I MISS A DOSE?
Take the missed dose of Generic Carbimazole as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, take both doses together.
What happens if I OVERDOSE?
Symptoms of Generic Carbimazole overdose include: nausea, vomiting, epigastric distress, headache, fever, joint pain, pruritis, edema, exfoliative dermatitis, nephritis, hypothyroidism or goitre. If the overdose is suspected, contact your doctor or emergency room immediately.
What are the possible SIDE EFFECTS of Generic Carbimazole?
Generic Carbimazole may cause the following side effects: headaches, nausea, joint pains, stomach upset; itching; skin rashes, hair loss (alopecia); blood disorders; pain in the muscles (myalgia); joint pain (arthralgia); yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice); bone marrow depression (severe sore throat, mouth ulcers, fever) or disturbances of the gut such as diarrhoea, constipation, hepatotoxicity, nausea, vomiting or abdominal pain.
