CLASS and MECHANISM of Action
Generic Catapress is an alpha agonist analgesic. It works in the spinal cord by preventing pain signal transmission to the brain.
Active Ingredients: clonidine hydrochloride
Inactive Ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, corn starch, dibasic calcium phosphate, gelatin, glycerin, lactose, magnesium stearate, methylparaben, propylparaben, FD&C Yellow No. 6, FD&C Blue No. 1 and FD&C Red No. 3.

What is Generic Catapress PRESCRIBED For?
Generic Catapress is used for treating severe pain; alcohol, nicotine, or benzodiazepine (tranquilizer) withdrawal; migraine headaches; smoking cessation programs; Tourette's syndrome; narcotic/methadone detoxification; premenstrual tension; and diabetic diarrhea and also it is used with opiates in cancer patients for whom opioid (narcotic) analgesics alone have not been adequately effective.
How Should I Take Generic Catapress?
Take Generic Catapress with or without food with a full glass of water. Take it on a regular schedule to get the most benefit from it.
Store Generic Catapress at a room temperature in a dark dry place. Keep it out of the reach of children.

What are the CONTRAINDICATIONS for taking Generic Catapress?
Generic Catapress is contraindicated to patients who have allergy to any of its components, kidney problems, heart problems, problems with the blood vessels in your heart or brain, or the blood disease porphyria, history of stroke or a recent heart attack, if he/she will be having surgery. It is not reccomended for usage in pregnant or breast-feeding women.
What Happens if I MISS A DOSE?
If you miss a dose of Generic Catapress , take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
What happens if I OVERDOSE?
Symptoms of Generic Catapress overdose may include decreased body temperature (feeling very cold); difficult or slow breathing; irritability; pinpoint pupils; severe or persistent dizziness or drowsiness; seizures; slow or irregular heartbeat; weakness, coma. If the overdose is suspected, contact your doctor or emergency room immediately.
What are the possible SIDE EFFECTS of Generic Catapress
Generic Catapress may cause the following side effects: chest pain; decreased sexual desire or ability; fainting; fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat; hallucinations; mental or mood changes; severe or persistent headache or dizziness; swelling of the hands, ankles, or feet; constipation; dizziness; drowsiness; dry mouth; nausea; tiredness; vomiting.
What other drugs can INTERACT with Generic Catapress?
Generic Catapress may interact with the following: beta-blockers, calcium channel blockers, digoxin, tricyclic antidepressants.
