Generic "Propulsid" is a medication intended only to treat the symptoms of nighttime heartburn in adults. Nocturnal, or nighttime, heartburn is a common symptom of a medical condition called gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

How Should I Take Generic "Propulsid"?

Generic "Propulsid" comes as an oral tablet. Take each dose on an empty stomach with a full glass of water. Take the tablet at least 15 minutes before the meal and at bedtime. The dose is prescribed individually to each patient. Therefore follow the directions of your doctor thoroughly. For best results take each dose regularly, at the same time according to the schedule your doctor made to you.

What are the CONTRAINDICATIONS for taking Generic "Propulsid"?

heart disease or hardening of the arteries;
heart failure;
an irregular heartbeat or a history of irregular heartbeats;
a history of prolonged QT intervals;
a family history of congenital long QT syndrome;
a slow heart rate that is considered a medical condition;
a structural heart defect;
heart block or other conduction disturbances;
severe dehydration (loss of water),
vomiting,
malnutrition,
an eating disorder;
kidney failure.

What Happens if I MISS A DOSE?

If you forgot to take a dose and it is almost time for the next one, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose to make up the missed one.

What happens if I OVERDOSE?

nausea,
vomiting,
rumbling noises in the stomach,
flatulence,
diarrhea,
urinary frequency,
tremors,
seizures,
weakness.

If you suspect an overdose seek medical attention instantly.

What are the possible SIDE EFFECTS of Generic "Propulsid"?

an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives);
vomiting;
fainting;
unusual weakness or tiredness;
difficulty breathing;
shortness of breath.

If any of the above side effects happen report to your doctor immediately.
