RobaxinCLASS and MECHANISM of Action Generic "Robaxin" is a central nervous system (CNS) depressant with sedative and musculoskeletal relaxant properties. The way this medication works has not been clearly identified, but may be related to its sedative properties. Generic "Robaxin" does not directly relax tense skeletal muscles in man.

Generic "Robaxin" is prescribed as an adjunct to rest, physical therapy, and other measures for the relief of discomfort associated with acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions.
How Should I Take Generic "Robaxin"? Generic "Robaxin" comes as a tablet to take by mouth. Swallow the tablet with full glass of water. Do not split, chew or crush the tablet. Do not take your medicine more often than directed.
Dosage: Six grams a day are recommended for the first 48 to 72 hours of treatment. (For severe conditions 8 grams a day may be administered). Thereafter, the dosage can usually be reduced to approximately 4 grams a day. Try to take the medicine at the same time each day. This way you will get better results. Generic "Robaxin" should be stored at controlled room temperature, between 20°C and 25°C (68°F and 77°F). Dispense in tight container. What are the CONTRAINDICATIONS for taking Generic "Robaxin"? Generic "Robaxin" should not be used in women who are or may become pregnant and particularly during early pregnancy unless in the judgment of the physician the potential benefits outweigh the possible hazards.
Before using this medication tell your doctor if you have an unusual or allergic reaction to Generic "Robaxin", other medicines, foods or dyes. What Happens if I MISS A DOSE? If more than 2 hours passed from the moment you should have been taken the medicine, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double dose to make up the missed one.
What happens if I OVERDOSE? Symptoms of Generic "Robaxin" overdose are: nausea, drowsiness, blurred vision, hypotension, seizures, coma.
If you suspect an overdose of this medication seek emergency medical attention instantly. What are the possible SIDE EFFECTS of Generic "Robaxin"? Generic "Robaxin" may cause drowsiness or dizziness, which may impair your ability to operate motor vehicles or machinery.
Below you can find several side effects that may happen while taking this medication: dark urine; constipation; skin itching or rash; seizures (convulsions); lightheadedness, fainting spells; vomiting; slow heartbeat.
