Generic "Pepcid" belongs to a class of medications called H2-blockers. The medication works by blocking the action of histamine (histamine is a chemical made by the body that stimulates cells lining the stomach to produce acid) on stomach cells, thus reducing production of acid by the stomach.

Inactive Ingredients: Hydroxypropyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, iron oxides, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, corn starch, talc, and titanium dioxide.
